Celebrating Day 80 with Boxing Class

I found one of those internet specials where you get to do 3 boxing classes for 20 bucks, plus you get a pair of gloves for free. So, obviously, I was tempted to try it out. I immediately called New York San Da and asked the most pressing question, “Will my nose be broken?” The response was no, but there may be bruising. That was enough to be a little more interested in trying it out.

Two of my friends and I showed up for a vicious hour of a hardcore workout. The training that goes into these kickboxing classes is intense and there’s no doubt that I burned the 800 calories they promised. As you can see from the photo, it’s certainly not a place that’s pretty or smells good, (it’s got that real boxing feel!) but you come out of there soaked in sweat and feeling like you did more in one hour than you have all of your life. I didn’t even know I could do that many jumping jacks or push-ups or sit-ups in one session. At the end of the class, one of my friends gave me the evil eye and said, “Remind me to kick your a** later!” I most certainly will not be reminding her. I think it may have been an empty threat because she’s the one that reminded me she’s ready to try it again.

Breakfast: Cherry Muesli with Skim Milk.

Lunch: Multigrain Sandwich Thin with 2 Light Laughing Cow Cheese and Green Grapes.

Dinner: Veggie Fajita Salad.
